Provincial Advocacy

On February 11, 2020 the Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce approved a policy resolution on electrical distribution and transmission, “A More Equitable Model of Electrical Distribution Pricing for Alberta.” This policy resolution was also co-sponsored by the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce and Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce. In September 2020, the policy resolution was presented to the Alberta Chambers of Commerce for consideration at their 2020 AGM & Policy Session. Unfortunately the policy resolution was not adopted by the members of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce for 2020, however our Chamber will continue to advocate for this policy resolution.

In November 2020 the Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce was approached by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce to co-sponsor an electricity policy resolution, along with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce. On November 12, the DDCC approved the policy resolution “Strengthening Alberta’s Electricity Transmission Intertie Infrastructure”.
