News Release: Repairs to Little Church Completed

The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that repairs to the Little Church are now complete, and it was transported back to its original location on North Dinosaur Trail on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015.

The Little Church was discovered to have been vandalised on October 30, 2014. A fire that had been started inside the Little Church had burned a hole through the floor, and some smoke damage was present. After closer inspection, extensive repairs were deemed necessary to ensure the longevity of the popular attraction. Through a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce and the Drumheller Institution, the Little Church was removed from its site by the Town of Drumheller’s Public Works department and moved to the carpentry shop at the Institution in February 2015.

Volunteering with Junior Achievement

Twenty-two eager and engaged students in Mrs. Walker’s grade 4/5 class at Greentree School were participants in the More than Money program. Students learned the role of money in everyday life and how to track their money as they earn, spend and save. They also learned about creating a business, building a business plan and operating a business.

Message from the DDCC- April 23, 2020

Dear Chamber Members and Business Community,

These are challenging times for our world. Our federal, provincial and municipal governments have taken broad sweeping measures to protect us, as Canadians and Albertans, from the COVID-19 virus. While these measures are aimed at protecting our health from this global pandemic, they continue to have a devastating effect on our business community. As such, we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information available to you and to help minimize the impact this pandemic has locally on our community.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared, our Board of Directors and staff have been working diligently to provide resources and support to the business community. Following is an update of our activities:

Where Can I Find Hand Sanitizer, Shields, and PPE in Drumheller?

First, please keep in mind that not all businesses require all levels of protective equipment. As per the Workplace Guidance for Business Owners document, business owners should conduct hazard assessments to identify existing and potential hazards related to COVID-19. Where elimination of these hazards is not possible or reasonable, they should be controlled. Please review the Workplace Guidance for Business Owners document and specifically the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) page as your first step. This page explains the levels of controls that businesses can use.

It is recommended to call local suppliers as quantities in stock may vary daily.

This information has been sourced from volunteers; if your business has items and you wish to be added to the list please contact us at 403-823-8100 or via email.

As of June 11, 2020, this is the information we have received:
