Shop Local

Thanks to funding from the Government of Canada, we were able to launch multiple Shop Local initiatives to support Drumheller area businesses from July 2021-end of February, 2022.

One of these projects was a community 'Think Local' video.

CHAMBERMARKET- a new e-commerce platform created by the Alberta Chamber of Commerce network, for Alberta businesses.
We offered to cover the one-time setup fee and $250 worth of professional product photography for the first 15 local businesses that signed up through us by February 28. 13 businesses took advantage of this offer. This offer is no longer available but businesses can still sign up to sell products and services on ChamberMarket at any time.

Promotional Videos - We had a community Shop Local video produced, and covered the cost for 15 local businesses to have their own promotional videos produced too. Videos are available on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Chamber Cash: We've recreated the old Dino Dollars program to provide a local gift certificate. Certificates are available in $20 and $50. Businesses must opt-in to accept Chamber Cash and be reimbursed. Chamber Cash can be purchased in person during our regular office hours and online. Find out more here.

Mission Possible: A Shop Local activity with numerous prizes which we ran July 12 to August 8, and again from November 22 to December 19. Each round injected over $3,000 into the local economy.

Customer Service Superstars: From October 4th to November 7th, we accepted nominations from the public for individuals that provided excellence customer service. Each week we drew names at random from the nominations and rewarded them with Chamber Cash prizes. $1500 in Chamber Cash was awarded, all to be spent locally.

Chamber Cash Blowout Sale: In January of 2022, we used grant funds to put a limited number of our $20 and $50 Chamber Cash vouchers on sale. These vouchers were sold at 50% off, but redeemable in participating businesses at full face value. Chamber members were given early notice about the sale via email on January 12, (it pays to be a member!) and on January 14 we posted the sale on our social media platforms. Within approximately 24 hours, all 197 gift certificates were sold! Assuming all of them are redeemed, this will equal $6,700 generated in local spending.
