Structural Assessment of World’s Largest Dinosaur Underway to Guide Future Plans

July 9, 2025

Further to meetings held on April 15 and May 27 between the Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce, Town of Drumheller and Travel Drumheller, the parties have engaged Williams Engineering to do a structural assessment on the World’s Largest Dinosaur. The assessment will include an estimate of the life expectancy in years for the main structure (including the stairwell) and the secondary structure (Tyra’s ‘skin’). Williams Engineering will report any additional findings and provide recommendations for any observed deficiencies, including recommended timelines for repair and high-level costs. The assessment will take place in early September, with a final report made available to the parties in the fall. The report will inform the parties' future discussions around the World's Largest Dinosaur beyond its current lease which ends December 2029.
