What made you start your own company?

I had spent most of my early career working in various sales positions, negotiating deals on everything from Cadillacs to cemetery property. Although I enjoyed considerable success in sales, I grew tired of the constant prospecting. By chance, I offered to help out a friend with his commercial janitorial business and I found the change to be a great fit. In time I began Pro-Active Building Maintenance, first in Airdrie and then relocating the business to Drumheller in 2004.

What has the biggest challenge you’ve experienced as a business?

The concerns and challenges of the COVID pandemic.

What is the best or most popular service?

Our core business is professional commercial janitorial services, and we are proud of our many long term relationships. That said, it is our work in peoples homes with carpet and furniture cleaning that generally puts the biggest smile on faces.
