Where Can I Find Hand Sanitizer, Shields, and PPE in Drumheller?

First, please keep in mind that not all businesses require all levels of protective equipment. As per the Workplace Guidance for Business Owners document, business owners should conduct hazard assessments to identify exisiting and potential hazards related to COVID-19. Where elimination of these hazards is not possible or reasonable, they should be controlled. Please review the Workplace Guidance for Business Owners document and specifically the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) page as your first step. This page explains the levels of controls that businesses can use.

It is recommended to call local suppliers as quanities in stock may vary daily.

Message from the DDCC- April 23, 2020

Dear Chamber Members and Business Community,

These are challenging times for our world. Our federal, provincial and municipal governments have taken broad sweeping measures to protect us, as Canadians and Albertans, from the COVID-19 virus. While these measures are aimed at protecting our health from this global pandemic, they continue to have a devastating effect on our business community. As such, we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information available to you and to help minimize the impact this pandemic has locally on our community.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared, our Board of Directors and staff have been working diligently to provide resources and support to the business community. Following is an update of our activities:

DRUMHELLER COVID-19 ECONOMIC RECOVERY TASK FORCE

During this time of economic uncertainty, The Town of Drumheller and Chamber of Commerce have partnered to establish an economic recovery task force to provide resources to help local businesses and nonprofit organizations navigate the various financial aid and deferral programs offered by:

• Government of Canada
• Government of Alberta
• Town of Drumheller
• Major banks and private lenders

If you are having trouble getting through to your bank on a toll free number or their main branch phone number, local banks have kindly provided additional contact information for their employees.

Business Tips & Inspiration

On Wednesday, March 18 the Town of Drumheller gave a live Economic Update featuring members of the Town's Emergency Operations Centre and Mayor Heather Colberg. During the update, Mayor Colberg provided some business tips and ideas to assist and inspire local businesses during this challenging time. The powerpoint slides including her suggestions can be downloaded here.

Has your business made a 'pivot' to stay afloat during this time? If so we would love to hear about it so we can share ideas with the business community. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with further details.
