On June 18, 2021 the Government of Alberta announced that the 70% vaccination requirement to fully reopen the province had been met. This means that Stage 3 of the Open For Summer plan can begin on July 1, 2021, removing all mandatory COVID-19 restrictions.
On May 26, 2021 the Government of Alberta announced their 3 step plan to safely ease COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, businesses, schools and recreation in the province. Step 1 begins June 1 with the following:

Employers and service providers can apply to receive free rapid test kits for use in their organization’s COVID-19 screening program.
On May 4, 2021 Premier Kenney announced stronger public health restrictions in Alberta in light of increasing COVID-19 case numbers. There are two levels of restrictions: some are province-wide and some are in effect for regions that have at least 50 cases per 100,000 people, AND at least 30 active cases.
These restrictions will be in place for at least 3 weeks and will be extended if necessary. Provincewide restrictions remain in effect for all other communities.
